Match Report
An evening game for a change saw hall fall a goal down to a strong Elmswell side, however a lovely move resulted in hall getting an equalizer through Brill. HT 1 – 1.
The second half started with a lot of Elmswell pressure and goals were shared equally between the two teams with Hall adding through a lovely Wigley shot and an own goal from a Brill corner. Elmswell had tp press hard and got a deserved equalizer in the last few minutes.
Another strong team performance most notably from the defence of Robinson in goal and defenders Bowler, Wilson, Steel Smart and Lord.

Hall started this game with only 10 men although it didn’t show. Hall did fall a goal behind but then a Cladd thunderbolt just before HT made it 1 – 1. Hall started the second half brightly and Wiseman made it 2 – 1 before tiredness crept in and Hall conceded another 2. Late on a lovely Wigley cross was missed by several players from both teams. The final score was 2 – 3.

Match Report
Hall started this game very slowly and fell 4.0 down. Just before half time Brill slotted in to give hope for the second half. The second half started as the first with hall conceding another two goals to make the score 6 – 1 and a real hammering was on the cards. To their credit the lads then dug deep and further goals from Brill, Wiseman and 3 more from Brill inbetween another two Thetford goals left the final score a more respectable 8 - 6.

Match Report
Hall were away to Bury Town C at the sports centre which provided a great playing surface, but with a strong wind it was very much a game of two halves. Cladd went in goal for this one and did very well along with Steele-Smart in defence who has hit a real purple patch of form. Hall were kicking with the wind first half and after Wigley unleashed an absolute thunder bolt of a shot which hit the underside of the bar it bounced kindly for Brill following in to head home 0-1. Bury to there credit then got the equaliser against the wind for 1-1 but Hall hit back and J Clayton found himself in space to slot home nicely from 12 yards 1-2, then from a corner a well deserved goal for Steel-Smart who after a bit of a scramble stabbed the ball home for 1-3 at HT.
The second half was all Bury as the wind seemed to get stronger and after a very late challenge on Cladd in goal the Hall keeper had to go off injured. Bury then continued the onslaught and managed to get the 2 goals needed to secure a draw 3-3.

Match Report
Hall were playing Needham for the second time this season and after being comfortably beaten away they really needed to get there revenge and play as well as they knew they could. Brill scored in the first half but Needham were looking strong and the first half finished 1-3.
The second period saw Hall really start to play and after a fantastic 30 yard free kick flew in from the boot of Wilson to make it 2-3 all the lads really started to get stuck in. The equaliser was sublime after Walters dinked a lovely ball to Brill who controlled well and volleyed with a superb left footer from 20 yards! 3-3. With only minutes to go the unlikely goal hero was the fantastic Wilson who got his head onto a Brill corner to make it 4-3 to Hall!! Another great game for everyone involved. Well done boys.

Match Report
Hall were playing Stow for the second time in a month and after a 6-6 draw in the first game this was a game which promised to be a cracker, and it certainly was.
Stow came out firing and quickly went 1-0 up but great play from Brill, Wigley and J Clayton saw it fall to Brill who curled in a lovely low shot just inside the post. Hall were then caught again on the break although it did look offside,
Stow made it 2-1.
Back came Hall again and a great corner from Brill saw J Clayton run in and head home for 2-2. Hall were now playing some great football with Wilson and Steele-smart leading from defence and fantastic link up play between Clarke, Wigley, J Clayton and Brill up front. The next goal saw Hall go ahead for the first time after another great corner from Brill the ball came out to C Clayton on the edge of the box and he blasted the ball home for his 1st goal of the season.
Stow then came back again and the first half ended 3-3.
The second half was a bit cat and mouse for 15 minutes, Walters, Green, Wilson and Steele-smart all defending well and the chances kept coming up front and J Clayton had two more great chances, but eventually it was Wigley who put Hall back in front with a delightful lob over the keeper. With just 7 mins left
Stow then equalised again! For 4-4 , prior to this Unwin made a fantastic stop and then the ever electric
Wilson cleared off the line. It looked like another draw was imminent until Hall got a corner with 30 secs to go, again it was perfect from Brill and it was J Clayton who rose near post to head the winner!! 5-4, a fantastic game and result for all the lads who just had the bare eleven players and played their hearts out…well done

Match Report
Hall travelled to Thurston in search of another much needed win, unfortunately it wasn’t to be in this closely fought game. There was not much goal mouth action in the first half but Pettitt did get a couple of lovely balls across which somehow didn’t get what they deserved with an end product. Steele-Smart and Clarke were immense as centre backs and Robinson in goal was very steady, it was Thurston however who got the 1st goal and at half time it was 1-0.
The second half saw Hall come to life and J Clayton and Brill were linking up very well and were running the show down the right. It was then from a Brill corner that J Clayton made his run to the near post to equalise with a nice header. C Clayton then delivered a great ball through to J Clayton whose great first touch took him through on goal but the finish grazed the outside of the post. With Steele-Smart and Clarke still providing a great platform at the back it looked like Hall were going to go on and win but against the run of play Thurston broke through and despite Robinson making a great initial save the ball somehow bobbled out of control and Robinson could only push it in after trying to get a grasp!. It was harsh on the Hall keeper who had had a great game and on the rest of the lads who really deserved the win!! Unlucky boys.

Match Report
Hall started this game against Bulldogs brightly knowing that the 3 points were vital, and although the game should have been killed off early Hall got the job done. It was J Clayton who opened the scoring with a neat finish and then the ever improving Wiseman got two goals one either side of Bulldogs getting one back and at half time it was 3-1.
The panic button was hit for a short spell in the second half as Bulldogs got it back to 3-2 but Hall regained composure and Pettitt put in a lovely cross come shot! Over which beat everyone and flew into the net. Brill then showed quick feet and great composure to finish well and make the score 5-2 and seal the win a good workmanlike performance from all the lads well done.

Match Report
Hall travelled to Stowmarket for this extremely entertaining game of football and with both teams needing the points 6-6 was probably a fair result. Hall came out of the blocks flying and with great link up play from Walters and Brill,Wiseman was put through and finished well. Stow then after a good save by Pettitt managed two goals of their own and went 2-1 up. Both sides continued to find openings and a good challenge by C Clayton enabled J Clayton to feed Brill who used his pace to cut in and finish well 2-2.Hall then had their kamikaze 10 minutes and
Stow obliged with three more goals to go into half time 5-2 up.
The second half got under way and Hall were relentless with Clarke, Unwin, Wilson and Steele-smart very solid in defence and the Clayton brothers, Walters, Pettitt and Wigley battling for everything in midfield it was only a matter of time before the rewards came, and they soon did Wiseman benefiting from good link up play to score his second, and then Wigley burst through from midfield and coolly finished into the bottom corner 5-4 then J Clayton and Brill went close before Wiseman got his second hatrick of the season 5-5.Hall now wanted the winner and with great team effort again ending in J Clayton to Wiseman to Brill who after rounding the keeper rifled in from what seemed an impossible angle 5-6.With 5 minutes to go Stow to their credit got the equaliser but not before Lord in goal for the second half made some tidy saves. So 6-6 and with both teams hitting the post in the dying minutes a real rollercoaster of a match, absolutely fantastic to watch! Well done to the whole team outstanding.

Match Report
A very cold morning at Horringer saw MHYFC take on the table toppers
Woodbridge. After a battling display in the cup last week Hall went back to not coming out of the blocks and will want to forget this 1st half performance as
Woodbridge sailed into an all to easy 6-0 lead. The only two players wanting to get stuck in were Lord and Wilson, and it was Lords doggedness that won him a good tackle and great through ball to J Clayton who controlled well and finished with a crisp effort to beat the keeper just before half time.
Credit to all the Hall lads who came out second half a different side and showed plenty of grit. They were rewarded with two more goals with Brill cutting in and finishing well and with probably the best move of the match Walters played a nice ball to J Clayton who then found Wigley who hit the box running to finish in style. Two further goals for
Woodbridge meant the second half was actually 2-2! But the damage had already been done!. The final score being 3-8,Hall need to take heart form the second half and carry it forward into the coming games.

Match Report
A cup quarter final for Hall who were up against a good looking Thetford side and after a lacklustre effort in the league the previous week Hall needed to up all aspects of their game.
Up it they certainly did with great effort and battling performances for all involved, the first half saw Clarke, Steele-Smart, Bowler and Unwin all very firm and in control in defence and at halftime it was 0-0.
The second half was much the same but Hall were just not getting the breaks in front of goal and whilst J Clayton and Wiseman came close they couldn’t break the deadlock. Robinson made some great saves in the Hall goal and with 15 mins to go extra time looked a possibility but unfortunately for Hall a lazy 5 mins saw Thetford score 3 and one of those was a cross! It meant Hall had a mountain to climb. Credit to Hall though the whole team continued to battle on and the goal which was fully deserved came right at the end when J Clayton pressured the back line got in on goal but his shot was smartly saved but only into the path of Wiseman who smashed in. A great game to watch and all 12 players should feel proud of their efforts although the result was hard to take. Unlucky boys.

Hall were never really at the races at Elmswell today and were simply out muscled, out fought and out played! At 1-0 down Clayton was brought down in the box and took it upon himself to take the penalty but the Elmswell keeper saved well although Clayton would have been disappointed with his lack of power behind the kick. That was Halls only real effort and at half time it was 5-0,ironic that Hall led 5-0 at ht in the cup 6 weeks earlier!!
Hall again battled a little harder in the second half but Elmswell were much more physical and composed and ended comfortable 8-0 winners.

A daunting game for Hall this one, knowing Bramford were a good side but Hall didn’t look out of place and the score line was not really a true reflection on the game. It was 5-0 at half time, but the second half saw Hall really dig in and all the lads deserve praise for battling on and keeping their heads up, it would have been nice to have scored but I think Bramford’s 6ft keeper had other ideas!!

Match Report
Hatrick’s for Brill and Wiseman on his debut! Saw Hall go through to the next round of the cup in this 12 goal thriller.
It was another rain soaked morning at Horringer as Hall took on Achilles at home, and it was a perfect start for Hall as Pettitt opened the scoring straight from kick off after a through ball from Wigley. Achilles managed to hit back to make it 1-1 but Hall were playing some of their best football of the season and very quickly went 5-1 up with A great goal from Brill cutting in from the right and a first half hatrick from Wiseman who beat the keeper with low drive then added from the spot and after a great run and cross from Pettitt it was Wiseman who made no mistake with the finish. Steele-Smart and Cladd were winning the midfield battle and Clarke, Walters, Wilson and Bowler were solid in defence and although J Clayton didn’t have much to do in goal Achilles somehow got it to 5-2 at half time.
Hall had a lazy 10 minutes at the start of the second half and were punished by Achilles who got it to 5-3, but Brill had other ideas and quickly got two more great individual goals for Hall and his hatrick!!. Credit to Achilles who battled on and got it to 7-5 but Hall were comfortable by the end and C Clayton had a chance for 8 along with a good header from Steele-Smart, but 7-5 it finished. Well done lads.

Hall were eager to put last weeks performance behind them with this home fixture against Bury B, unfortunately Bury were well organised and played very well. The first half however was a tight affair and Pettitt looked solid in goal along with
Wilson at the back who seemed to have the legs on Bury’s forwards, however Bury led 2-1 at half time with Brill scoring a nice goal to add to his tally for the season.
The second half saw Bury largely dominate and but for a good Clarke effort which was spilled into the path of Wigley to score and a couple of Pettitt efforts Bury ran out comfortable winners winning 7-2 . A bit hit and miss from Hall today.

It was never going to be easy for MHYFC away to
Needham but for whatever reason Hall were just not at the races today. They quickly went 2-0 behind and after Clarke played a nice through ball Brill latched onto it and finished well. It could have been a lot more for
Needham but Pettitt made some good saves to keep it at 2-1 at half time.
The second half was much the same for Hall with only Unwin really standing out with any conviction and
Needham were soon comfortably 5-2 up!. The last few minutes saw Hall start to play a bit better and J Clayton dribbled through and found the net with the last kick of the game! But it was all too late and the final score was NEEDHAM 5 HALL 2.One to forget!

Match Report
Difficult games for all involved due to a massive pitch and windy conditions but Hall started brightly and were soon 2-0 up. The first came from good work by Brill, J Clayton and Wigley who all combined well and it was Pettitt enjoying his role on pitch who smashed the ball home. The second came from a lovely through ball from Lord who found Wigley down the middle, Wigley showed great composure to lift it over the keeper. Hall however couldn’t quite put the game to bed as the Bulldogs pulled one back. Hall then managed another as good work from Pettitt on the wing led to J Claytons shot being blocked but Brill smashed in the follow up. Despite Robinson adapting well to his new role in goal with good handling he couldn’t do much about Bulldogs second and at half time it was 3-2 to Hall.
The second half was against the wind for Hall who despite tiring battled on gamely, it was Unwin who was showing the most energy and after good work by C Clayton he burst through to make it 4-2.Credit to Bulldogs who never gave up, they then scored again to make it 4-3. Wilson was also showing good energy at the back and this seemed to rally Walters and Green into a much firmer defence, it was Unwin who made sure of the points though after what seemed an eternity of pinball!!! In the Bulldogs box Unwin finally tapped the ball in. 5-3 to MHYFC a good result for Hall who probably on reflection should have won a little more comfortably, well done lads.

Match Report
Another lovely day as MHYFC entertained Thurston at Horringer Court Middle. A very skiddy surface didn’t help both teams, as they struggled to get the ball under control. After about 15 minute’s hall started to play some nice football with Brill and Clayton working well up front together. Halls best chance was when Wigley found Clayton who played wide to Brill who crossed well only for Claytons effort to be brilliantly saved. Unfortunately against the run of play Thurston executed a great corner which was bundled in on the line!!. Harsh on Halls defence and Keeper who were playing really well. Then it was 2-0 as C Clayton made up ground to make a great challenge only to be dispossessed just outside the box, Thurston made no mistake with a neat finish.
In the second half Hall continued to play well and Green got his 1st goal after he headed goalwards from a corner, the keeper saved well but then seemed to drop it into his own net, a bit unlucky.1-2 Hall pushed and probed for the equaliser which unfortunately didn’t come, it was one of those days!!.
Another great team performance from Hall unlucky.

Match Report
A wet and windy day at Elmswell for this cup tie which was certainly a game of two halves! MHYFC started the game in fine style when Brill latched on to a through ball, rounded the keeper and made it 1-0. Hall didn’t stop there and it seemed they had all bought there shooting boots when great goals from Steele-Smart, Pettitt and Wigley were all smashed in from outside the box to make it 4-0. The Hall defence of Unwin, Clarke,
Wilson and Walters dealt with all that Elmswell could throw at them in the first half and central midfielders J Clayton and Cladd bossed the midfield. Clarke then played a great ball to Wigley who crossed well for Brill to slot home his second and make it 5-0. More good work from midfield resulted in J Clayton curling in a shot which was well saved by the Elmswell keeper.
With the game at their mercy MHYFC seemed to push the self destruct button as the second half was all Elmswell who clawed it back to 5-3. Luckily thanks to the clock and some great saves from stand in keeper Robinson, Hall held on to make sure they were in the hat for the next round, another fantastic team effort.

Match Report
A lovely sunny morning in Hadleigh saw some lovely sunny football from MHYFC, after going a goal down after just 5 minutes they soon reorganised and after a through ball by J Clayton to Brill who made a nice run and finish to make it 1-1. MHYFC continued to press and the midfield and strikers started to link up well J Clayton and Brill both came close but at half time the score remained 1-1.
Unfortunately it was Hadleigh who yet again led 10 mins into the second half, but MHYFC did not let their heads drop and after a good ball from Clarke found Brill who after hitting the post made no mistake with the follow up 2-2!
More good work from Clarke, Steele- Smart and Pettitt, resulted in J Clayton hitting the bar, and as MHYFC continued to press another good ball from Clarke found Wigley who when clean through got bundled over. Penalty!! who else but Brill stepped up to smash the penalty home for his hatrick! 2-3.
MHYFC were now really buzzing and after a nice cross from Pettitt, Wigleys header was saved only for him to smash in the rebound 2-4 MHYFC soaked up the Hadleigh pressure in the last 10 minutes and C Clayton nearly made it 5 with a glancing header but hit the post. MHYFC held on well for a deserved win and can be proud of how they played as a team!!
