Sam Barrett.
An athletic, energetic midfielder, who can play wide or in the central area. Sam is a great passer of the ball and has an eye for goal, as the Needham goalkeeper recently found out, after he whizzed one past him into the top corner from 30yards.
One of the original u8 squad, Sam is also accomplished in Taekwondo, you have been warned!

|
Sam Cornish.
Some boys love motorbikes, some like sweets or swapping football cards. Sam Cornish loves tackling! Your original no-nonsense tough defender, Sam is also a talented player with the ball at his feet and the team’s designated penalty taker.
Part of the original u8 squad and a natural leader on the pitch, Sam is the team’s vice-captain. |

|
Oliver Ellis.
Impressed home and away when playing for Stow Town at u8s, Ollie joined us in the close season and is already proving his worth. A skilful and tricky wide player who also enjoys playing upfront, Ollie has an eye for goal and already boasts a superb scoring record.
A real livewire in training, he is a popular member of the squad. |
|
Tom Gardiner.
Tom trained with us for much of last season, but is now coming into his own as a crucial member of the squad at u9s. A natural holding midfielder, he is a great reader of the game, superb in possession and extremely disciplined in defence.
An excellent trainer, do not challenge Tom to a ‘keepy-uppy’ competition, I guarantee you will lose! |

|
Alex Lee.
Another student of the martial arts and an original member of the u8s squad, Alex is never short of a joke or three and is a valuable and versatile member of the squad.
At home tackling hard in defence or playing on the left in midfield, Alex has also provided excellent cover in the goalkeeping department when called upon. |
|
Kieran Moore.
You know what they say about goalkeepers…this lad proves it’s all true! Brave as a lion, or just plain mad if you believe his Dad, Kieran joined us pre-season and has quickly established himself as a superb No.1.
He is popular with his team-mates and has proved an invaluable addition to the squad already this season. |

|
Will Stobbart.
Top scorer at u8s last year with an incredible 35 goals from midfield, Will is a talented wide player. Much of our best play goes through the little fella, whose range of passing and crossing often surprises the opposition, as does the quality of his delivery from set-pieces.
Will is a strong favourite to make the most assists this season. |
|
Jack Stone.
Tough, all action bull of a player. Jack played in midfield last season, but has been a revelation leading the line this term and looks certain to top the Moreton Hall u9s scoring charts.
Utterly unselfish, Jack possesses great touch and vision and links the play superbly. He is also ice-cool in front of goal and is a natural and deadly finisher. |
|
|
|
Aiden Sturgeon.
A pacy and skilful attacking player, who can play on the wing or upfront. Aiden is an original u8 squad member who is usually at the heart of high-jinks in training. A fantastic dribbler of the ball when in possession, Aiden also has a great eye for goal as he has already shown this season.
His taste in boots however; is dodgy! |
|
Lewis Tebbit (Captain).
Fancies himself as a midfielder, but is used primarily in a ‘sweeper’ role, which allows him to start attacks from defensive areas. A good reader of the game, he grabbed 10 goals from the back last year.
Lewis possesses a thunderous shot and has already crashed a couple in this term, including one from the halfway line. |

|
Ricky Cornish (Manager).
Looks great for 48, and once played league football apparently. (I have seen evidence of this in the form of some black and white photos.) Has more gear then any kit-man in professional football, including an array of dodgy hats, possibly to hide the rapidly moving hairline.
That said, he is simply the best manager the boys could ask for. Brings a professional approach to training and matchdays, gets total respect from a bunch of hyperactive 8 and 9 year olds and makes sure everything they do is about having fun and working as a team! |
